Power Yoga is a Yang practice that is rhythmic and repetitive and primarily works the muscle tissue. The energy of Yin is quiet and still and is the focus of Yin Yoga. Yin Yoga exercises the yin tissues of the body known as connective tissue.
In a Yin practice, poses like DRAGON help to free up the hip joints which enhances strength and stability in poses like Warrior I and Crescent Lunge. Simple yet potent backbends like SPHINX bring greater support and extension to backbends like Bow, Bridge and Wheel.
